Coming back from sickness

There's a theory we've been using for years now on coming back into the gym after being sick.

It's not science-science, but it's tried, tested and tested again. Oh and again.

Have 1 week off, take 1 week to get back to fitness.

Take 2 weeks off, take 2 weeks to get back to fitness.

Etc etc.

I believe the key to a successful return is to totally remove the ego on the 1st session back and go at 50-60%.

No more than (please).

Because the head wants to go, but the body will push back significantly on this.

Don’t let the head win, listen to the body.

Just yet.

So, in a nutshell…

If you get a head cold, rest, recover and be confident that all is not lost.

While you're sick you'll be down in the dumps and thinking you'll lose everything you've ever gained (that’s normal, or maybe it’s just me).

But that's not the case.

1 week off with a cold, 1 week to get back in the mix.

Happy winter season ;)

DP.
